My name is Hester Gardner and I have been fascinated with baking from a young age. As a child I remember coming home from school to the smell of freshly baked cakes, scones and that family favourite, the apple pie. We had chickens and ducks in our garden, providing fresh eggs, and an orchard of fruit trees which my mother put to good use.

During the planning of my wedding in 2007, I fell in love with every aspect of the wedding business, especially the cakes! So following our return from honeymoon I enrolled in some cake decorating classes and the love affair with all things cake began.

By bringing together some tried and tested family recipes, and my love of colour and design, Sweet Tiers Cakes was born in September 2009.

The cake was AMAZING! It looked spectacular, it tasted divine, and the proof was in the pudding.....we hardly had any of it left the following day! I was beginning to wish that we had asked you to make a 6-tier cake instead!
Thank you so much for baking it to perfection, decorating it beautifully and setting it up so expertly in the hall. It looked splendid on its stand in those incredible surroundings.
The whole day was so unbelievably special, I wish we could do it all over again, and the cake was a crucial and delicious part of the event! Thank you ever so much again, we shall definitely be recommending you to everyone we know! Kindest regards,

From the first time we met Hester (you), through to the Wedding day itself, Hester has been a joy to work with. It was so refreshing to work with her during the planning process. She was imaginative, creative and very keen to exceed our expectations, which she did. It was important for her to make sure we had exactly what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. We wanted a vintage theme to our cakes, so we decided on cup cakes and a two tier cake. Hester went out of her way to source the right cake stands so as to be in keeping with our theme. She helped us decide on cake flavours and decorations and the final product was stunning. The cakes looked too good to eat, all individually decorated with roses and flowers which matched perfectly with our colour scheme. We were blown away by the detail, as were our guests. We are not intending to get married again but will certainly be calling on Hester to make any celebration cakes we need in the future. Thank you so much for your attention to detail and the care and pride you took in making our cakes so memorable. And did I say they were really delicious too!
